Biocides


Thor's biocides provide safe and effective protection against the microbiological spoilage of a wide variety of products, including paints, polymer emulsions, adhesives, inks, metalworking fluids, detergents, shampoos and plastics.

Our main expertise lies in the production of biocides based on isothiazolinones, and we can also supply an extensive range of standard and customized biocides containing other active ingredients. Marketed under the international trademark ACTICIDE^® , these biocides help prevent the biodeterioration of products both in their wet/fluid, dry/cured and intermediate states.

Our high purity isothiazolinones with innovative stabilizing systems have gained ready acceptance by users and regulatory bodies such as the EPA and FDA.

The Microcare^® range of preservatives has been specially formulated to meet the exacting standards demanded by the personal care industry. Developed for leave-on and rinse-off preparations, the range is backed by our dedicated microbiological testing, research and development and in vitro toxicology testing capabilities.
