Thor's Technical Service Center, staffed
by highly qualified scientists, offers our customers unparalleled
technical support, regulatory backup and registration assistance.
The changing needs and requirements of biocide users make
our testing facilities indispensable to our customers.
A rapid turnaround analytical and microbiological
service enables us to deal with problems as they arise quickly
and effectively. Our policy is to work with our customers
to ensure optimum cost-effective biocide recommendations based
on sound scientific evaluation.
Microbiological
Our comprehensive package of testing includes:
- Plant hygiene audits
- Product contamination tests
- Determination of MICs (Minimum Inhibitory
Concentrations)
- Kill-dose determinations
- Wet-state bacterial and fungal testing
- Dry-film fungal and algal testing
- Enzyme detection (e.g. cellulose and amylase)
- Disinfection testing
- Testing of plastics and leather
Analytical
Thor's laboratory is fully equipped to
analyze products for the complete range of biocidal actives
we supply and many more. Amongst the analyses routinely conducted
are HPLC, for the full range of isothiazolinone and other
molecules.
We can tailor make microbiological and analytical
tests to meet the specific requirements of our customers.
In Vitro Toxicology
The Thor Group does not believe in animal
testing and is a corporate sponsor of FRAME (Fund for the
Replacement of Animals in Medical Experiments). We are the
first preservative supplier to establish in-house in vitro
toxicology laboratories, enabling not only the provision of
information on raw materials and finished products without
the use of animals, but also to offer these testing facilities
to customers.
